John Park Guitars
—————————— February 20th, 2010 ——————————

My uncle is a luthier (guitar builder) from Summerland, British Columbia, and I finally convinced him that he needs a website. The idea of building a guitar is somewhere between alchemy and C++ to me, but from some of the design notes he put up it’s amazing to see the level of workmanship that goes into luthiery; you actually get a sense of the critical factors that separate good handbuilts from mediocre ones.

Good Days
—————————— December 16th, 2009 ——————————

I’ve had a few great days in a row. Celebrated my brother’s birthday, put a sizable dent in Carl Sagan’s The Demon Haunted World, ran around my house recording the sounds of me hitting things, actually got some musical ideas onto paper.
To go with my mood, here is a super fun version of The Beatles’ Don’t Let Me Down, performed by Charlotte Dada. The polyrhythmic bells and percussion make me ridiculously happy. I don’t know much about Charlotte Dada, other than that Benn Loxo Du Taccu loves her (and I can see why).

Hurrah For Little Cameras
—————————— November 13th, 2009 ——————————
A quick video of things I’ve been up to these days, like destroying my camera and falling in the ocean. Also, sorry for the lack of music updates. I have a giant folder of tracks I’m loving and want to share with you, but I’m too busy to write anything coherent about them at the moment.
My name is Brian Park and I like music.
